UV CURE RESIN CLEAR COAT from repurposed tree limb to table.

This Super High Gloss wood table was created from a spalted tree limb that fell in our yard.
Hurricane Debbie in 2012 caused a small F-0 tornado to take an entire tree down and we saved about 20% of the wood.
The remaining wood was mulched. The UV cure resin is applied indoors
and a sheet of clear acrylic is pressed carefully on the surface preventing bubbles
The table is placed in the shade outside for 20 minutes to kickstart the curing process
while limiting the endothermic process. Once partly cured, the table with the UV curing resin is placed
in direct sunlight. After 30 minutes to one hour the sheet is started at one corner
and removed in one continuous peel to prevent lines. The resins come in the following:
• UV - cure epoxy
• UV- cure urethane
• UV cure vinyl ester epoxy
• UV-Cure polysulfide resin
• UV cure Pre preg fiberglass
Ultraviolet cure resin, sun cure, UV- cure or radiation cure resins can be cured using the sun,
a Metal-halide lamp (gallium or lead) produces UV curing as an alternative to the sun. Also newer
energy saving UV lights made from LED bulbs work well for slower curing. More info:
